I just heard of my Aunt Winnie passing away..!
My mind immediately went back to her life as a nurse...she had saved so many unwanted babies from dying by convincing the parents to give them a new life by giving them instead to couples who were desperate for a baby. All this before the pro life movement ever became popular or was well known. She stood for her christian values. She was a passionate person. Loved life. Hated no gooders. She was generous too. She gave me a watch when I passed middle school. It was a slim casio watch. All my classmates loved that watch.
She also understood loneliness, her hubbie was a hard working driver in the RTC who then went to the Gulf to earn a better living, he spent almost 10 years there. He then retired as an officer in the RTC. She has a lovely daughter who is now a successful executive and is married to a business man.
She often visited us when I was still a student living with my Mom & Dad. Every time she moved her house, we would be called upon to help with the move. And boy that was a busy two days getting her stuff moved.
She was very close to my Dad and missed him dearly when he passed away a couple of years ago.
She also loved dogs and always had at least a couple of them at any given time in her home. She treated them like her children.
May she rest in peace...
